Halloween Party

All moms and kids!
A Tigger & a gorilla!
Craziness!

We had our annual play group Halloween party this past weekend. It was a little bit of a bummer since not everyone was able to make it but we all had a good time eating, talking, and of course, playing! It is so nice to be able to get together with girls that I have so much in common with, kids almost the exact same ages as mine! It was so much fun seeing all of the toddlers interacting with each other, I can't believe how much all of the kids have grown. It was also nice to see the "2nd generation" of our play group grow and change as well.
Chase did really well "holding" Luke for these group shots. He thought he was really hot stuff. I know that he isn't really fond of being a gorilla for Halloween but there wasn't much out there that I could find for his size. I'm hoping the costume serves its purpose on the big day, keeping him warm!

On Saturday we went to the Riverwalk with my mom. The weather was beautiful and I think everyone enjoyed getting out the house. Luke was pretty happy to finally be able to sit up well in the stroller and see his surroundings. Chase was thrilled to see the ducks and geese, especially the friendly goose that stood about 1 foot away from us, begging for food. We had a picnic and ended up feeding Chase's left over sandwich to some fish in the pond. Boy, was that exciting! :)

Park Fun!

So we ventured to the park last weekend and had a great time. Chase loves swinging so we spent a lot of time doing that. Luke experienced his first swing ride as well and seemed to like it too. Our friend Paige met us there and the kids ran around in the grass and had a great time. It was nice to enjoy one of the last warm days before the freezing weather arrives.

Kevin's Wedding

A rare picture of just Blake and me
All of the girls
The traditional "boxer shot"Liz, Jackie, and me

This past weekend, October 11th, our friend Kevin got married. Lauren, his bride, was beautiful. We all had a great time because we got to be together (which is a big deal in itself) and there were no children to interrupt us! It was so great to catch up with so many friends that have moved away and see friends that live around here but that we never seem to have time to connect with. If it wasn't for the money, I would love to have a wedding to go to about once a month, that way we would be sure to keep in touch with everyone and have a night out!

Friend's Visit

Logan and Chase hanging out
Going down the big slide at Logan's birthday partyLuke and Jeff in the "party chair"

We had a great weekend because all of our close friends were in from out of town to celebrate a wedding. The Howard Family was able to stay with us for a few nights and we really enjoyed their company. Our friends Jeff and Jackie were also in town from Nashville. We got to go to Logan's 3rd birthday party at Pump It Up, the kids had a lot of fun. Although everyone loves their new homes, we miss them very much!

Mesmerized!

Watching the digger
Doing his own "work"

Construction has started on the lot behind ours and Chase is just obsessed with it! Everyday he has to go and watch the "guys doing their work". We've had a crane, lots of cement and dump trucks, and of course a lot of wood and hammering. He just loves to see the progress on the house. He has been spending many of these chilly fall mornings just standing outside and watching the work. It is just too cute :)

Play Date

Here are a few pictures from our last play date with our Cradle Talk friends. It was so much fun to watch all of the kids actually interacting with each other and "playing". It was almost like old times, the moms sad around, talked, and ate and we didn't need to worry too much about the kids. All of the "2nd generation kids" are all growing so fast, it is so nice to have a group of girls that I can turn to with questions. I can't wait for our Halloween party, it should be craziness!

Luke's 6 month Check Up

Can you tell school is in full swing? I can't update the blog as much as I'd like but I will try to be better.

We took Luke in for his 6 month check up. He is continuing to be up and down with taking the bottle at the sitter. His weight was only 15 lbs. 11 oz., the 14 %-tile, down quite a bit from his last check up. The doctor says that we need to keep an eye on this and really encourage him to eat solids, which he doesn't understand how to eat at all! He also had a little infection on his face, pretty much pimples that keep coming back in the exact same place. The doctor said that they will scar so she gave us some cream to help clear everything up. Hopefully it will work.

I'll try to post some new pictures soon!
