We've had a busy March...but a fun March. The big thing right now is ice skating. Every Saturday Chase is so excited to go "play hockey" with Blake and has improved tremendously from the 1st time, he can actually "skate" on his own. I'm excited to go next week and check out the progress. He is constantly telling me that he's a hockey player guy, I love it.

Fun Times
A Nice Day in March?!?
We dusted off the backyard swings a few weeks ago to get out of the house and enjoy some warmer March temperatures. It was great to get out and makes us long for the warmer spring days that are bound to come and stay soon. I can't wait to play outside on a regular basis!
The Boys' Birthday Party
Getting a ride on the parachute
On March 7th the boys had their first joint birthday party. We decided to have our music class teacher, Miss Joan, come to our house and hold a class in our family room. I chose all of the boys favorite songs for the play list and I think a fun time was had by all, including the adults. We sang, played with scarves, music sticks, the parachute and of course all of the instruments. The boys were showered with gifts and love, it was a great success!

Chase & Luke's Check Up
We went for Chase's 3 year doctor apt. yesterday morning. It was a big boy appointment, asking him to change down to his underpants and drape the "blanket" over him if he gets cold :) He did well, although is always leery of the doctor at first. He weighed 35 pounds (80th %-tile) and was 40 inches (90th %-tile). He's been the same %-tiles for over a year, pretty consistent with his growth. We didn't have any shots so things ended positively with a sticker and doughnut on the way to Cathy's house.
We asked the doctor if she could weigh Luke, just so that we could see his growth. The last time we weighed him on this scale was mid-Feb and he weighed 18 lbs, 10 oz, which was almost 1 pound more than the specialist at Children's scale. He weighed 18 lbs, 8 oz, 2 oz less than he weighed almost a month ago :( We weren't terribly shocked because he has days that he "eats" well, but most days are just not that great. We're going back on the 30th for his 1 year appointment. I'm really hoping that between now and then we can get him eating more consistently and maybe even gaining weight.

Happy 3rd Birthday Chase!
Well, my baby is officially 3 years old, I can't believe it! We had a great day together. He loved making his birthday cupcakes and putting the sprinkles on was by far the best part. We ate the delicious cupcakes and opened his present, a big boy bicycle. At first he was really excited and said thank you. When we told him to get on it, he didn't want to. After awhile though, he warmed up to the idea and loved the helmet, pads and bike. He is currently tucked snug into his bed with his bicycle right next to his bed, too cute :)

Ice Skating Fun
So we took Chase for his first ice skating experience last weekend with Paige and he loved it! There was a hockey game going on the the rink next to ours so when we initially walked in, he was totally excited about being a "hockey player" on the ice. He questioned why kids were wearing helmets and didn't understand why there were football players on the ice because in his world, a helmet means football :) After about 45 minutes of Blake skating around bent over and holding Chase up, he was definitely done but Chase was not. We're signing him up for a learn to skate class that he is going to take with Paige in March. I know that he is going to love it. I just hope he doesn't love it too much, hockey is an expensive, time consuming sport! I can't wait to see his growth!
Beth's Shower
Two weeks ago I went to my friend Beth's baby shower. Beth and I have been friends since grade school, were roommates all 4 years in college and now she is welcoming a baby girl into the world. She is actually due on Luke's birthday...we'll see when she decides to make her debut! It was great having all of the girls together, we had a great time, my mom was with us too so that made our afternoon even more fun. If only Khara would have been there, it would have been a true reunion!
